At Instant Weather, our goal is to provide everyone with accessible and reliable weather forecasts. As part of our commitment to accountability and transparency, we collect snowfall data after every widespread snowfall event of 10cm or more across Southern Ontario. The data collected is used to evaluate our forecast and determine how we can make our forecasts more accurate.
You can find our current average forecast accuracy on this page along with a link to the snowfall summary that we’ve created after each event since January 2022. At this point, we only track the accuracy of our snowfall forecasts since snowfall is easier to measure and report. We are looking at ways to expand this effort to other weather types soon.
