Several waves of precipitation are expected to affect Southern Ontario over the weekend beginning Saturday morning for regions around Lake Erie and overnight into Sunday morning for the rest of Southern Ontario. The heaviest rainfall is expected through the first half of Sunday as a decaying cluster of heavy rainfall with embedded thunderstorms. Rainfall will continue for much of Sunday with the focus on Eastern Ontario where a fairly heavy band of rain could set up just north of Lake Ontario. Total accumulation is expected to range from 30-50mm for the hardest-hit regions including the Lake Erie shoreline and into parts of Eastern Ontario just north of Lake Ontario. The rest of Southern Ontario can expect between 15-30mm of accumulation although locally higher amounts are possible in areas that get into the thunderstorm activity. Precipitation will begin to taper off late Sunday although some lake effect showers may linger around east of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay into Monday.
