We have our first major system that has its eyes set on Prince Edward Island.
TIMING:
Snow will begin late morning on Wednesday. Snowfall will continue into Thursday morning before tapering to flurries.,
TOTAL AMOUNTS ACROSS THE PROVINCE:
The below amounts indicate the accumulation totals for each of the three counties. The models are still not in total agreement, but what we can see at this time is the following accumulation amounts:
Prince County – 10-15 cm
Queens Country – 15-25cm
Kings County – 25-35cm
WIND:
Winds will be a factor with this system. Winds pickup through the day on Wednesday. Generally, they will be between 30-40kmh. Wind gusts will reach 60-70 kmh. Winds will diminish in the afternoon hours of Thursday.
With the increased winds and snow, visibility will be diminished. Please exercise extreme caution on the roads throughout the afternoon and evening hours of Wednesday and into the morning of Thursday.
