Southern Ontario: Snowfall Outlook for Tuesday, March 1, 2022

A weak Alberta Clipper is expected to bring widespread snowfall to parts of Central and Eastern Ontario on Tuesday. The snowfall has already begun as of Monday evening and will continue throughout the morning on Tuesday. For Eastern Ontario, the snow will start predawn Tuesday and continue into the afternoon. It should taper off by the late afternoon, but it could linger around Brockville and Cornwall past the dinner hour.

Total snowfall by the end of Tuesday isn’t expected to be overly significant with most areas topping out at 2-6cm through Central Ontario. However, there is a small zone that includes Ottawa, Brockville and Cornwall which are likely to pick up around 10cm. Locally could be a few centimetres higher than that up to 12-14cm, but that’s unlikely. Those south of Lake Simcoe will see very little impact from this system with a few flurries if anything at all.
