PRAIRIES: Wildfire Risk Forecast for Wednesday, May 31, 2023

The wildfire risk is expected to be high across the Southern Prairies with a pocket of extreme risk in Southern Alberta. A swath of low to moderate risk extends across the Central Alberta, into Central and Northern Saskatchewan as well as Northern Manitoba and along the Ontario border. An additional area of high to extreme risk will be found in Northern Alberta and Northwestern Saskatchewan.

The wildfire risk is expected to be low to moderate across most of Northwestern Ontario on Wednesday with pockets of high risk around Kenora and Sioux Lookout. The rest of Northern Ontario can expect high risk conditions and a large area of extreme risk that includes Kapuskasing, Cochrane, Timmins, and Chapleau.

SOUTHERN ONTARIO: Wildfire Risk Forecast for Wednesday, May 31, 2023

The wildfire risk is expected to be high across Ontario on Monday with an area of extreme risk in parts of Lambton, Middlesex, and Essex Counties.

The wildfire risk is expected to be high across most of Alberta and Saskatchewan on Monday, with a moderate risk through the Rockies and a swath of extreme risk to the north. The high risk will also be present in Manitoba, but there is a substantial area of Eastern Saskatchewan into Western and Central Manitoba that can expect low risk. Eastern Manitoba is under high to extreme risk for Monday.

The wildfire risk is expected to be moderate to high across most of Alberta and Saskatchewan on Friday, with low risk through the Rockies and parts of Eastern Saskatchewan. Northern Manitoba can expect low to moderate risk, but high and extreme risk conditions will be present in the south.
