Bus Cancellations & School Closures for Tuesday, January 18, 2022

Due to the current pandemic, some school boards have changed their policies on school bus cancellations. Some will continue the school day in a virtual format if buses are cancelled. Check with your local board for more details.

English Public and Catholic Schools

  • Durham Public & Durham Catholic - All in-person schools are CLOSED. In-person elementary students will not participate in remote learning. In-person secondary students will transition to online learning for the day. DDSB@Home schools remain open and will proceed with a normal day of instruction. Buses are cancelled for all zones today due to road conditions from insufficient snow removal. DCDSB Secondary school will switch to virtual learning. Elementary schools and Before and After school programs are closed.

  • HaIton Public & Halton Catholic - Due to the significant snowfall yesterday and current road conditions, all Transportation services will remain cancelled in Zone 1, Zone 2 and Zone 3 and schools will be closed for in-person learning Tuesday, January 18, 2022. Students may switch to asynchronous learning today. Please check with your local school board for more information.

  • HamiIton Wentworth Public & HamiIton Wentworth Catholic - The significant snowfall continues to restrict travel. Buses are not running due to current and unsafe road conditions. As such, schools and child care centres are closed and remote/eLearning programming is cancelled, Jan 18.

  • Kawartha Pine Ridge Public & Peterborough Victoria Northumberland Clarington Catholic - Please be advised that, due to road conditions, busing to SCHOOLS in Clarington is cancelled for the day. Busing to schools in other STSCO areas may have route delays and possible cancellations as well today. http://stsco.ca

  • Niagara Public & Niagara Catholic - Schools are closed and transportation is cancelled (due to road and sidewalk conditions from yesterday's inclement weather event) for the District School Board of Niagara and Niagara Catholic District School Board.

  • Ottawa CarIeton Public & Ottawa Catholic - All school buses & school vans are cancelled, Tuesday, January 18, 2022. Due to the tremendous amount of snowfall yesterday, many residential roads and minor collectors have not yet been plowed.. Schools are open, however parents/guardians are responsible for transportation of students attending open schools at the end of the day.

  • PeeI Public & Dufferin-PeeI Catholic - Due to snowfall conditions, all buses and in-school instruction are cancelled. All PDSB schools and office buildings will be closed. Parents, please do not send your child(ren) to school. All students will switch to remote learning for the day on January 18. DPCDSB Schools and Facilities to remain closed to students and staff on Tuesday, January 18 and all students will switch to Remote Learning for the day.

  • Toronto Public & Toronto Catholic - The City of Toronto has declared a major snow storm condition. All TDSB schools will remain closed to in-person learning for Tuesday, January 18. Students will not participate in live remote or virtual learning. All school bus transportation has been cancelled for tomorrow for TCDSB & schools are closed for in-person learning.

  • Upper Canada Public & Eastern Ontario CathoIic - Due to poor road conditions on many routes, all school transportation is cancelled today, Jan. 18. Schools are OPEN to staff & students. If your child normally walks to school & will not be attending, please contact your school. Asynchronous learning activities are available.

  • York Public & York Catholic - Due to today’s significant snowfall amount and continuing conditions of roads, sidewalks and school parking lots, schools and board locations will be closed to students on January 18, 2022. Students will learn remotely. Parents do not send your child to school Jan 18.


French Schools

  • Conseil des écoles publiques de l’Est de l’Ontario (CEPEO) - School transportation is canceled today due to incomplete snow removal in several residential areas. Schools remain open.

  • Conseil scolaire de district catholique Centre-Sud - please note that schools in the following regions are closed today and learning will be in synchronous mode.

  • Conseil scolaire de district catholique de l'Est Ontarien - School transportation CANCELED today (all regions). Schools remain open.

  • Conseil scolaire Viamonde -

    • Region of Hamilton: Transportation is cancelled today. Schools are closed to students.

    • Region of Durham: Transportation is cancelled today. Schools are closed to students

    • Region of Halton: Transportation is cancelled today. Schools are closed to students

    • Region of Niagara: Transportation is cancelled today. Schools are closed to students.
