Alberta: Thunderstorm Forecast for Monday, July 17, 2023



Prepare for widespread thunderstorm activity across Central and Northern Alberta starting Monday afternoon and persisting into the evening hours. According to the latest data, several of these storms have the potential to become severe, particularly in Central Alberta, including Whitecourt, Edmonton, Red Deer, and Lloydminster.

We have this area in the slight severe risk, with large hail up to the size of golf balls or potentially even larger being the primary threat. Additionally, damaging wind gusts of up to 100 km/h are possible, and there is a slight chance of an isolated tornado.

Surrounding areas, including Calgary, Medicine Hat, and High Prairie, have an isolated severe risk, but it remains uncertain if storms will affect these areas.
